Gokmen Tanak is an award-winning barber with more than 30 years of experience in the barbering industry.
His journey began in Adana, Turkey, where he developed his passion for barbering from a young age and learned the traditional skills, discipline and craftsmanship of the profession.
After moving to Australia in 2011, Gokmen joined International Barber Salon in Auburn, a business established in 1980. Over the years, his dedication to quality, customer service and continuous improvement has helped build International Barber Salon into one of Australia’s most recognised award-winning Turkish barber shops.
In 2026, Gokmen and International Barber Salon reached a major milestone by being named Champion Barber and National Champion at the Australian Trades Small Business Champion Awards. International Barber Salon was also named Barber Shop Winner at the 2026 Cumberland Local Business Awards.
Gokmen specialises in precision scissor work, modern and classic men’s haircuts, skin fades, beard styling and traditional Turkish barbering. He believes that every haircut should be personalised to suit the client’s hair type, face shape, lifestyle and individual style.
His philosophy is simple: never rush quality, never stop learning and treat every customer with respect.
